The views on the way up are simply spectacular. You can see the whole city, the harbour and out to the sea. The cabins are modern and the hop-on hop-off stops made it easy to explore Montjuïc

Excellent
A lovely, relaxed way to reach the castle and take in Barcelona from above. Booking ahead saved us time and the round-trip ticket was great value for the panoramas alone

Very good
Beautiful ride with amazing photo opportunities. It does get busy at midday, so go earlier if you can. Combining it with the castle and the Miró museum made a perfect afternoon
Things to Know Before Booking

What Your Ticket Includes

A round-trip ride on the Montjuïc Cable Car (Telefèric de Montjuïc), valid for both ascent and descent with hop-on hop-off stops at Parc de Montjuïc, Miramar and Castell de Montjuïc. It does not include entry to Montjuïc Castle, the funicular or the separate Port Cable Car.

Age Recommendations

Suitable for all ages. Children aged 4-12 enjoy a reduced fare; adults are 13 and above.

Best Time to Attend

Mornings and late afternoons are quieter and offer the clearest light for photos. Midday can be busy in peak season, and weather may affect visibility.

Facilities

The cable car is wheelchair accessible. There are cafes and cultural attractions nearby on the hill, including Montjuïc Castle, Fundació Joan Miró and Poble Espanyol.

Getting There

The recommended route is Metro L2 or L3 to Paral·lel, then the Montjuïc Funicular to Parc de Montjuïc, where you transfer to the cable car. Do not use the separate harbour cable car - this ticket is not valid there.

How Long Is the Montjuïc Cable Car Ride?

The cable car covers 750 metres up Montjuïc Hill, and the ride itself takes only a few minutes each way. Because your ticket is a hop-on hop-off round-trip, most visitors spend a couple of hours in total exploring the stops, the castle and the viewpoints.

The cable car runs daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Allow extra time to reach Parc de Montjuïc via the funicular and to enjoy the attractions on the hill.

How to get there

Boarding point: Montjuïc Cable Car, Avinguda Miramar, 30, Sants-Montjuïc, 08038 Barcelona

By Metro & Funicular (recommended): Take Metro L2 or L3 to Paral·lel, transfer to the Montjuïc Funicular to Parc de Montjuïc, then follow signs to the cable car station.

By Bus: Several city bus routes stop near Parc de Montjuïc.

By Taxi: Taxis and ride-hailing services can drop you near the station on Avinguda Miramar.

Note: This is the Telefèric de Montjuïc - do not go to the separate harbour cable car, as this ticket is not valid there.
